Tarbes is the prefecture of the Hautes-Pyrénées department, and its inhabitants are known as Tarbais and Tarbaises.
Tarbes is home to many aeronautical companies, including AAA Tarbes, Tarmac Aerosave, Abelliom Aero, Lauak Innovative Solutions, SOFIP, etc.
It is also served by Tarbes-Lourdes Pyrénées airport to a number of European cities.
There’s even a business aviation facility with a business terminal to cater for personalised requests for private or last-minute jets.
Tarbes-Lourdes airport is conveniently located for many of the ski resorts in the Pyrénées-Orientales. The YUSE team provides transfers throughout the winter with snow equipment specific to the mountains.
Tarbes is also a student town, with the Institut Universitaire de Technologie IUT de TARBES (TARBES University Institute of Technology) attached to the University of Toulouse, as well as a prestigious engineering school, ENIT l’École Nationale d’Ingénieurs de Tarbes (Tarbes National Engineering School).
